Announcing the Students and New Archival Professionals Calendar

The Online Outreach SNAP sub-committee is please to announce the newest feature of the SNAP Blog: a calendar for SNAP-related events! The SNAP calendar was developed as a strategy for providing SNAPpers with information previously contained in SNAPshots, the roundtable newsletter. (To best serve SNAPpers, SNAPshots is currently undergoing changes that accommodate the SNAP blog—stay tuned for more updates!) The SNAP calendar will serve as the SNAPper’s one-stop-shop for scheduled SNAP-related events.

The calendar is populated with a skeleton of basic events, and will be continually updated with publicly announced SNAP-relevant dates. Additionally, you can contribute dates using the form located below the calendar. Examples of dates relevant to students and new archival professionals include professional conferences, paper and poster proposal deadlines, scholarship application deadlines, regional meet-ups, and student chapter sponsored events. Do you have a SNAP-related event coming up? Spread the word and share your event details!

The SNAP Calendar is housed on the SNAP blog, but can easily be incorporated into your Google Calendar by selecting the “+ Google Calendar” button on the bottom right hand corner of the calendar. This will allow you to view the SNAP Calendar from your Google Calendar page.

So, what do you think? Do you plan on using the SNAP calendar? We want your feedback! Feel free to comment below.
